MANHATTAN AREA WATERCOLORISTS – A wonderfully talented and varied group of watercolor artists from Manhattan, Kansas. Otherwise known as the MAC Watercolor Studio Artists. The work bright, light, varied, eclectic in water color from many subjects and inspirations and from many differing perspectives. The collection of recent work from the group of 20 or more artists from the Manhattan region bring their individuals visions to life. With new and fresh work. Always captivating and masterful. And often straight from life. For newcombers and the serious collector. Introduce yourself to the MAC watercolor scene.

Including works by:

Karen Schmidt:  "I taught art in the Manhattan Public Schools for many years.  Now that I am retired, I happily have time to work on my skills as a watercolor artist. Photos from my travels provide never ending inspiration for my paintings."

Robert Frotscher: "Retired graphic art and sign painter of Billboards with a second career in heating and air conditioning. My goal? To paint real experiences."

Anne Marchin: "I started as a ceramic artist and have a BFA in Ceramics and a BS in art education.  I like the looseness and flow of watercolor paintings now which shares attributes with working with clay and glazes.  I find that the problem solving and spontaneity of watercolor fit well with my attempts at expression.”

Cora DuChene: Self taught. "I do a lot of paintings of old homes and have done work for Riley County and Geary County Historical Society of architexture."

Douglas Teener: Retired from the Civil Service at Ft. Riley. "I love to play with colors because I can't draw very well yet.  It's fun not knowing what's going to happen until you've finished.”

Terry Mulhern: Past Art Educator with published art work featured in cards, calendar and book formats. "I think we all take our sight for granted, having had many eye problems, I feel blessed to be able to still paint who and what I appreciate that surrounds me."

And others! Around 70 works by 20 or more artists.
